While most photographers and retouchers understand the benefits of working with brands and creative agencies, few know how to prepare for it and get into commercial work.
Brands and businesses reach out to skilled photographers and retouchers every day. Those who understand what commercial clients need are the ones who get hired.

Beauty Retouching panels are Photoshop plugins created for photographers and retouchers who want a faster, professional retouching workflow, improved consistency of skin and tonal work, and a decluttered workspace.
Our industry is being reshaped yet again. Technology, social media, and evolving consumer behavior are changing how visual work is made and who gets hired to make it.
I started my journey in photography during another big shift, when analog gave way to digital. Later, I studied Commercial Photography in Australia (including shooting on film, medium, and large format cameras, and darkroom work), moved to Los Angeles, and built a career working with beauty and wellness brands, while teaching photographers and retouchers worldwide what I was learning through my work. That is how Retouching Academy was born.
Today, my Avenue Studio team and I continue to serve beauty, wellness, and lifestyle brands with a client list that includes Urban Decay, Lululemon, Pat McGrath Labs, and many others. We also helped over 52,000 students and panel users worldwide build the skills that commercial clients expect from creative professionals today.
From what we see, the demand for professional visual work is growing while client expectations are changing, and we are here to help you carry your skills through this shift into commercial work. Stick around and join 24,700+ pros on the RA newsletter, and be the first to read about what’s changing so you can act early.

We teach what we have learned the hard way through real-world commercial beauty and fashion work.
