Today we use its modern version in Photoshop and it can be done in multiple ways, but the concept and goals remain the same.

Once a retoucher understands the core concept and learns its technical application, D&B becomes the staple of their beauty, portrait and fashion retouching workflow. You can even out skin surface, adjust patchy makeup, and reshape forms (body parts, hair & facial features and more) as well as add depth and dimensions to the image.
