The New Wacom Intuos Pro is Available in Small Size Now

We retouching artists can’t live without our tablets and thanks to their top quality, Wacom tablets last so long that we go through additional stylus nibs and retouch holes through the tablet surface over the time that they serve us. That’s why it’s so important to choose a tablet of the right model and size, so you are comfortable all those retouching hours, days and nights.

Over 10 years ago, at the beginning of my creative professional career, I knew I couldn’t possibly retouch well with a mouse. Being a photography student in Australia, I had to save up to buy my first Wacom tablet, and thinking “the bigger the better” I went for the Large.

Fast forward to 2011, it’s time to update my tired and overworked tablet. My husband gifts me a new one, only in small size. I thank him and ask for the gift receipt, so I can go back to the store and exchange it for the Medium, so that it’s at least a little closer to the size I was used to working on. I still unpacked the small one and gave it a go, and to my surprise I loved it so much more, I kept it.

RELATED: So Do You Really Need A Wacom Tablet For Retouching?

I have owned and worked on all three Wacom tablet sizes since and realized I preferred small tablets for retouching, not only because they are portable, practical, and are available at a better price point, but also because I retouch many hours a day and working on a small tablet is easier on my wrist, arm and shoulder.

My current tablet is Intuos Pro Medium, it’s great, but it does take up a big chunk of my desk surface, and I still travel with my older small Wacom tablet. And finally today I received the good news from our friends at Wacom.

The new Wacom Intuos Pro is now available in Small size!

Here are some outtakes from the Wacom Press Release sharing the good news:
