→ Day 1: Photo Shoot With a Creative Team

9:00am – 5:00pm 


Essential fundamentals – how to understand light and its behavior, the “right” gear and lighting equipment for different projects and shoots,  how to direct models, how to shoot to minimize your post-production time.
Professional photo shoot with a creative team (MUA, hairstylist, models) personally instructed by Julia. From simple portrait to more complex lighting setups + working with color gels.
Guidance – Julia will instruct each photographer, looking at the pictures they take, and make suggestions on how to improve their shots, what to look for and how to avoid common mistakes in framing and directing the model.
  •      Establishing a good starting point – your camera and light settings
  •      Setting up the lights: a smart way of controlling each light in the setup
  •      Classic portrait setup against dark background
  •      Clean beauty setup against white background 
  •      Shooting with color gels
  •      Working with the model and creative team

  • Your camera
  • Long focal length lenses (85mm – 200mm)
  • Memory cards
  • Camera battery charger

→ Day 2: Retouching Masterclass 

9:00am – 5:00pm
A hands-on workshop: practical application of the professional retouching techniques, such as Dodge & Burn, Frequency Separation, Skin tones color-corrections and more.
Theory & Practice:
  • Image assessment
  • Raw conversions
  • Skin & Makeup retouching with the most effective retouching tools and techniques
  • Identifying correct skin tones + color correction techniques
  • Personal time and feedback from Julia
  • Q & A
 What Students Should Bring: 
  • Your own laptop
  • Graphics Tablet (optional)
  • Adobe Photoshop CS5+ installed on your computer
  • Knowledge of layers, adjustment layers and masking and the main retouching tools is necessary
Ultimate Goal Of This Workshop:

The goal of this workshop is to make sure the attendees know how to consistently and confidently set up beautiful lighting for any type of studio portrait/beauty photography; understand how to execute a professional photo shoot be it a simple portrait session or a skin care ad campaign with a big creative team and shoot to minimize post-production time.

Our students will learn how to prepare for a professional photo shoot and coordinate a creative team, avoiding common pitfalls and preventing potential common problems, as well as how to work with a model during the shoot to get strong beauty images.

The retouching tools and techniques that our students will learn on the second day of the workshop will help them take their photography to the next level. Julia will also share a handful of useful bonus materials.
